Denmark, August 28, 2023 - iRobot Corp. (NASDAQ: IRBT), a leader in household robots, is expanding its 2-in-1 lineup today with the Roomba Combo j5+ and Roomba Combo i5+ robot vacuums and mops. Simply vacuum or switch to the mop bin, and the robots know it's time for vacuuming and mopping. This means more options for you when it comes to combined floor cleaning.

Roomba Combo j5+ mops where you want and stays away from where you don't
The Roomba Combo j5+ robot vacuum and mop is designed for both wet and dry floor cleaning. It easily converts from a vacuum for all floor surfaces to a vacuum and mop for hard floors by swapping the dust bin with the mop bin. With the dust bin installed, the Roomba Combo j5+ uses Power-Lifting Suction and its unique Dual Multi-Surface rubber brushes for effective vacuuming of all types of floor surfaces – avoiding pet hair tangles and picking up everything from small particles to hair and larger debris. When using the dust bin, the patented Dirt Detect™ technology allows the Roomba Combo j5+ to detect dirtier areas and clean them more thoroughly, and the Roomba Combo j5+ automatically empties into the Clean Base - External dust bin, which holds up to 60 days of dirt. The Clean Base uses disposable bags for easy disposal, avoiding the unpleasant dust cloud when emptying.
When it's time to mop, simply swap the dust bin with the mop bin (filled with water or a compatible cleaning solution), and the robot will automatically detect that it's time for a combined cleaning. The Roomba Combo j5+ instantly transforms into a robot vacuum and floor mop, using its Dual Multi-Surface rubber brushes, Power-Lifting Suction, side brush, and mop cloth to tackle dirt, footprints, and dust.
Unlike competing 2-in-1 robots, the Roomba Combo j5+ is powered by iRobot OS and gets smarter with each use. It learns how to best navigate your floors by creating a Smart Map, remembering room names, and your specific cleaning preferences. With the iRobot Home app, you can set No-Go Zones, so the robot knows to avoid carpets and rugs. The Roomba Combo j5+ recognizes more than 80 common objects1, enabling the robot to clean more specific places on command, such as around the litter box, toilet bowl, and dishwasher, etc2. It also allows the robot to detect and avoid objects like cords, clothes, shoes, socks, backpacks, pet bowls, and toys without the risk of getting stuck, ensuring the job is completed. With the iRobot P.O.O.P. promise, the Roomba Combo j5+ even avoids solid pet waste from dogs and cats. To make cleaning even easier, you can pair the robot with your voice assistant and simply tell it to clean specific rooms or around specific objects in your home, and it will do exactly what you ask3. The Roomba Combo j5+ understands approximately 600 voice commands, which is more than competing 2-in-1 robots.
Roomba Combo i5+: Double cleaning for smaller spaces
iRobot is also launching the Roomba Combo i5+ robot vacuum and mop. Like the Roomba Combo j5+, it easily converts from a vacuum for all floor surfaces to a vacuum and mop for hard floors by swapping the dust bin with the mop bin. It is ideal for smaller homes and cleans purposefully and logically in straight lines for optimal navigation in the home. Using the iRobot Home app, customers can create a Smart Map and assign room names for cleaning as needed. Cleaning jobs can be started via the iRobot Home app or with a voice command when the robot is paired with a voice assistant device. If the robot's battery runs low, the Roomba i5+ automatically recharges and resumes cleaning until the job is completed. When using the dust bin, the Roomba Combo i5+ automatically empties up to 60 days of dirt and dust into its Clean Base – External dust bin, which also serves as the robot's charging station.
