Restaurant domæne has doubled the number of guests. The Michelin star has given a huge boost.

April 11, 2024

Since "Restaurant domæne" was honored with the prestigious Michelin star on June 12, 2023 – just a year after opening – guests have flocked to it. But the duo Jens Vincent and Joakim Thomassen are not resting on their laurels.

There has been no shortage of enthusiastic reviews from food critics and guests from near and far who have visited the spectacular, dome-shaped building surrounded by grass and trees in Gødstrup. No one has ever doubted either the craftsmanship or the ambitions of the people behind "Restaurant domæne," but the fact that everything has progressed SO quickly has nevertheless surprised Head Chef Jens Vincent.

"In many ways, everything has gone so fast that we really need to remember to enjoy it all. We started the restaurant in the spring of 2022, and quite quickly we received nice mentions and attention from the major newspapers and guides in the country."

"Although we had guests from the first opening day, it wasn't full house every day, but it gradually increased. The construction process, concept development, and startup took a lot of time and energy, and suddenly a year had passed - and Joakim and I were sitting on a plane on our way to Finland after receiving an invitation to the Nordic Michelin star awards."

"I trust my food, Joakim's service, and our skilled staff and am extremely proud and only more hungry for improvements, adjustments, and the utopian 'perfection.' Now we're making some changes to the menu and adding some freshness and new dishes to match the budding spring! So we continue - and only for the better!" says Jens Vincent.

The ambition with "domæne" from the start has been to give guests an extraordinary overall experience with a focus on taste and quality, as far as possible using local ingredients and producers, but always with the freedom to experiment and refine. Behind the restaurant stands the company Witt, which has provided the land, building, and finances to get the restaurant up and running – with the desire to put Central Jutland on the gastronomic map. It must be said to have succeeded.
